Flea bombs are also called flea foggers. Like flea sprays, are a type of pest control device, which help to control flea infestation indoors. Flea bomb, being a broad term, can actually be used for referring to many similar devices. All these devices are nothing but pressurized cans. These devices have a propellant, which disperses aerosol poison through a nozzle in a room. When one activates the flea bomb, it will disperse fumes, which will spread over the space and kill fleas. They are better than many flea control methods, as they can reach areas, which might be difficult to reach otherwise.
The trap becomes even more effective when it is baited with a cocktail consisting of nonanal and 1-octen-3-ol (two substances found in human body odor), spearmint oil, and coriander Egyptian oil. As in a previous experiment, the team found that these four chemicals are good at attracting bedbugs. Chemical ‘lures’, known to appeal to bed bugs, made the traps more effective. The researchers had previously found that a combination of nonanal (a chemical often used in perfumes), 1-octen-3-ol (an alcohol found in human breath and sweat), spearmint oil and coriander Egyptian oil was attractive to bed bugs. They baited one trap with this and compared it to an identical trap without bait. The baited traps were more effective both in the lab, and in an occupied apartment.

Mealy bugs are tiny soft-bodied, wingless, white insects that produce a powdery, waxy coating on stems, leaves and fruit. They have piecing mouths that suck the sap from plant tissue. Mealy bugs weaken the guava tree, leading to discolored foliage and leaf drop. Mealy bugs secrete a exterminators sticky sweet liquid known as honeydew. Honeydew attracts aphids and ants. The coconut mealy bug (Pseudococcus nipae) is a major problem to guava growers in tropical locations. The spiked mealybug (Nipaecoccus nipae) is prevalent in Hawaii. Ladybugs are natural predators of aphids and mealy bugs. The syrphid fly and lacewings are other natural predators of aphids.

Scientists tell us that we share our planet with more insects and arachnids than all the other inhabitants combined. Scientists will also tell you that we need all those creeping, crawling, flying, six and eight legged beasties for the life and health of the planet and its citizens, including ourselves. Thats fine with most of us, I suppose, as long as we dont have to share our immediate living space with any of them. Scientists have also told us, though, that many of the chemicals that will rid our homes and offices of ants, spiders, roaches and what not are harmful. They can be dangerous to us, to our pets, and to the environment in general. So how do we rid ourselves and our spaces of the bugs that bug us so much? By harnessing the power of natures own repellents!
