Termites cause more monetary damage to homes than any other terrestrial creature on the planet. Its pests like termites that cause homeowners to stress and worry. You usually dont see them and you dont know if they are busy destroying your home in places where you cant see. While it is not always possible to detect them, there are some things to look for so you can detect them early and decrease the cost or repairs.
Termites hide secretly on parts of your homes without noticing their invasion. Their mouth and saliva can destroy wood or books, causing total devastation. They build their homes in cold places, by digging into the soil. Some species have their homes erected above the surface forming vertical curve-like mud or soil. On the other hand, other types lives on woods or on their feeding sites.
Of course, the real question is whether ultrasonic pest control devices really work at all. While some people do report using them with good success, unfortunately the science just doesn’t bear that out. Studies have actually been done in which ultrasonic devices were placed right next to cages of rodents. The rodents in these studies did not appear disturbed by the devices and went on to lead fairly normal rodent-lives. When males and females were placed in a cage together, they even bred. Entomologists also report that some of the creepy-crawly pests cannot even hear the high-pitched sounds put out by the devices, so obviously there is no reason these devices should deter them.
Some exterminators creatures will simply live in your home and create a nest. Others will do this too, but they will chew away at the wood and materials holding up your home. This can cause irreplaceable damage to your home, and you would have to dig deep into your pockets to sort the issue. Instead of going through that hellish situation, cease the problem as soon as you spot it, as the old saying goes, “better to be safe, than sorry”. You may not even have a pest issue, or it may be so minor it can be sorted with a simple product, but the fact will be that you are taking care of your home, and you’re taking the necessary precautions, to avoid damage to your property.
You can control and get rid of most garden pest insects with out ever having to spray dangerous pesticides in your yard or garden. Ladybugs, prey mantis, birds, and bats are all natures way of getting rid of insect pests that would other wise eat parts of your garden and possibly destroy it.
Billy began the study of entomology while in the Air Force in 1987. After he left the Air Force, he had five years training with a leading entomologist. After that, he completed 2 years of study in entomology with Purdue University where he completed two years correspondence training. He didn’t quit there with his studies, he continued at LSU until he earned his master’s certification for termite control.
Are bees really that dangerous, many would like to understand how extremely unsafe bees are. It can be asserted that it was blown out of proportion. How these flying fiends – so little, so incongruous – generate such horror in us. Are these accusations for real or simply imagined, we ask ourselves. We may unjustly fear the bees for all for the wrong reasons.
Another sign to look for is sawdust. Homeowners will often find a sawdust type material and not give it a second thought. What they are actually seeing are termite droppings and it can vary in color depending on the type of wood they have been enjoying.
